What are the units of the brake and gas pedal signals?

Does anyone know the units used in the brake and gas pedal signals from the CAN-bus?

Thanks,
Albal13

It depends on the car. Usually gas pedal signals are sent as percent throttle but could be scaled such that 255 is 100% and zero is zero. Brake pedal signals could really vary. It could be just “it’s pressed” or “its not pressed”. It could be in percentage like the throttle. It could be listed as the pressure (in psi, kilopascals, inches of mercury, bar, atmospheres, depth under water, who knows)

Thanks again for your reply. It seems the brake pedal value ranges from 100 to 260+ and the gas pedal value ranges from 0 to 90. It is really interesting.
